In the late 1970s into mid-80s, I did 30-some editions of woodcuts and quite a few small etchings. Later in 2011, more of those prints will be added here.

Hatcher Pass, Wet Gulch is an original fine print, not a reproduction. Image drawn under a magnifying glass directly on ball-grained offset lithography aluminum plate with hard #5 lithograph pencils. To make the softly textured paper more receptive to this delicate image, the paper was calendered (flattened) with two passes through a hand-operated lithograph press. The aluminum plate was processed in traditional manner by the artist at Visual Arts Center of Alaska. Edition was printed on a Heidleburg offset lithography press at Van Cleve Printing in Anchorage, resulting in an extremely delicately printed image, with "just a kiss of ink" -- as described by artist/printmaker Matthew Sugarman.
